Building a Dedicated Engineering Team in Türkiye

A dedicated team is a different thing from a project engagement. You are not commissioning a bounded deliverable but standing capacity: the same engineers, continuously, inside your process and your backlog. It pays off when the work is not boundable in advance — ongoing product development, a backlog that shifts with what you learn in production. For one-off, clearly specified work, a fixed-price project is the better structure. The essential difference is where knowledge accumulates: with a dedicated team it grows in the team and stays available; with a project engagement it ends at handover.

The three models compared

  • Dedicated team: standing capacity, monthly billing per profile, you own the backlog. Suits ongoing product development from roughly three months.
  • Project engagement: bounded scope, fixed price, defined acceptance. Suits migrations, interfaces and clearly specified work.
  • Capacity extension: individual profiles alongside an existing in-house team, with architecture and domain knowledge staying with you.
  • In every model: German-speaking project leadership, contracts through the Berlin address, and the Art. 28 / Art. 46 GDPR construction.

How the first weeks run

  • 01Scope and staffing get settled first — which profiles, which seniority levels, how much capacity. This step is usually the real bottleneck, not developer availability.
  • 02In parallel the contractual and data protection setup runs: framework agreement, data processing agreement, Standard Contractual Clauses, and a decision on which data the team sees at all.
  • 03Then onboarding against anonymised datasets, and a deliberately small first delivery that lets both sides check the working relationship holds before capacity is scaled up.

When a dedicated team is the wrong model

  • For one-off work with clearly bounded scope — a fixed-price project is cheaper and simpler to steer.
  • Below roughly three months: onboarding does not amortise.
  • When nobody internally can prioritise the backlog. A dedicated team needs a product decision on your side; without one you get utilisation without outcomes.

Team model questions

  • In the dedicated model yes — that is the difference from a project engagement. Capacity is assigned rather than split across clients, so context knowledge accumulates in the team instead of being rebuilt at every switch.
